Protecting Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program
Members of Congress are currently considering legislation (H.R. 1683/S. 868), that will put at risk the health coverage of an estimated 14 million children and fundamentally reverse the enormous progress our nation has made in reducing the number of uninsured children. The First Focus Campaign for Children is committed to advocating against this legislation. We are committed to ensuring that programs that are essential to our children’s well being – such as Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) – are protected from cuts as our nation's leaders seek solutions to our budget challenges.
